Say Hey - Spearhead
Shawty Get Loose - Lil Mama
If You're Going Through Hell - Rodney Atkins
Nothing to Lose - Josh Gracin

Training has officially begun: Week 18

Hello! Well, we are now officially into our first week of training (week 18 counting backwards), or if you are Amy and have gone mad having decided to do two marathons two weeks apart, and are actually into week 16! I hope you all are doing well, and feeling good. The first week is fun, exciting, and tiring! Don't give up. Keep going!

What are you all listening to this week? My nano is at the beach, so I am without MUSIC until Saturday. BLAH! But I am excited to add a few new songs to my running mix, so let me know what you got...

Let the blogs roll on as we run run run!

New Blogger

Hello all. This is my first experience with a blog. Is there a way to get automatic notification when there is a new post?

18 week training program start date

Hi guys! I have June 22 as week 1 if you are following an 18 week training program. Anyone else following an 18 week program? If so, can you confirm that my backwards calendar math is right? I'm excited to be training and running with you all, we will have a great time.

Sarah - thanks for putting this blog together. We were all jamming out this morning to "the skin of my yellow country teeth" This has become one of Oliver's favorite songs, and will certainly make it onto his summer mix! (it's already been added to my running mix)

Here is a picture of one of my running partners this time around:

Oh, I'm also a Nike+ user. I haven't been on to the Nike+ site in a while, but I think we might be able to get a group out there? Maybe link it here, to track mileage and stuff? I'll check it out.

Happy running!

Tools!

I've found quite a few calendars and tools for marathoners. The first is this handy schedule-maker on Runners World's site. I've had a good time comparing it to my old Team in Training schedules, and seeing where maybe I've taken it easy with the speed work-outs in the past (they really do help if you actually...um...do them). If you're interested in seeing any TNT calendars, I'd be glad to email them to you.

The other is that Tara Parker-Pope from the NY Times is running her first marathon this fall. She's doing a weekly blog post called Run Well, if you want to check it out. It will have advice from Jeff Galloway and other experts.

Does anyone else have some good sites or training exercises they want to share?

I DID IT!!!

who would have thought this could have been so challenging for me?!?!  off to dinner with Kelly, yippee!

Here's to being friends, till life is through and ends...

Hey, Hey, young people! Or people who used to be young, but now are going to suck it up and run 26.2 miles together anyway!

I thought I'd start this blog so we can keep up with each other's training and post about our blisters and stinky socks and all the cool stuff we see when we're logging all the miles. Write about your schedule and any small races you sign up for in the meantime (so we can cheer you on), what your goals are for Marine Corps, and any good/bad experiences you've had with Gu and Accelerade.

Make sure you put your name and a tag (ie, training, injury, races, etc) at the bottom of your posts, so we can all keep track of who posts and what our topics are.

Run! Run!
(also, Go Hounds)
